well, i realize we have been absent for a while (a month to be precise) so hello to anyone who may still be out there! i have been doing a bit of crafting in my time away and i have to say that i am really enjoying sewing, who knew?! to be honest, i think a lot of it has to do with the very user friendly sewing machine we have.
so, i have been inspired as of late to try more sewing projects. i picked up a book called One-Yard Wonders. i will say that i have completed one project (which i will show you in an upcoming post) and that overall the book is pretty easy to use. the patterns are included and the book has a glossary and a "sewing fundamentals" section which i found helpful. there are some fun ideas for projects, and i'm excited to start on my next one!
one tip would be to check out this website http://www.storey.com/book_detail.php?isbn=9781603424493&cat=Crafts&p=0 it is the publishers site, and on the right hand side of the main page there is heading titled "corrections". i found this very helpful especially as i discovered a change that needed to be made in the pattern (thankfully) prior to completing my project.
i don't know how much appeal this book would have for the experienced sewer, but as a beginner i found it very helpful, and with a little research was able to follow the instructions pretty easily.
if you are interested you can check it out on amazon here...
